Crude oil prices are getting higher and higher and there is not much that we can do about it as individuals. We cannot change the prices, we can only hope that the prices are affordable, and if they are not we might as well turn to another source of energy. But there surely must be a reason for these oil prices being so high. Current crude oil prices are very high compared to their cost say a decade ago. The US government however does influence the cost of current crude oil prices and will continue to influence the prices. I am going to go into detail on what the US government do to control the flow of crude oil to the US as well as the influence that they have on crude oil prices in the US.

The US Government is responsible for finding a source of fuel and having it distributed across the US. The majority of the fuel which is used in the US is from eastern countries in the world. However even though the US Government controls this flow of crude oil across the country, they never seem to try to improve the prices or seek a different source of energy. It makes you wonder whether the US Government is actually aware of the current fuel situation with crude oil.

The US Government does have full control over the crude oil that comes into the country, however there never seems to be an improvement in price. Could it be a bad government? Could it be the decrease in crude oil in general? I would say it is a combination of both. Prices are high because crude all is becoming more valuable as its amount decreases. The US Government could be doing so much more to improve the way energy is used and distributed throughout the US. There is so much wasted and we could easily conserve it. But to be honest, it is a bit too late to save crude oil. Crude oil prices could be better if the government created a better plan of how to use the crude oil. But I think that the US Government could be using their power in much better way to change the current system, they could introduce green energy and renewable sources of energy. They have in some areas, but they are not looking out to changing it for the entire country as a whole.

The US government could do so much to improve the current energy plan, there are so many problems that are arising such as the high price of crude oil, yet the US Government seem to be concentrating more on other issues. There are many candidates running for the next election who want change to happen and I hope that whoever wins the election takes the current energy plan and completely turns it around so that it benefits the US. Many problems are arising as a result of crude oil prices and they are slowly forming into one big problem, we can only hope that some action is taken, and soon.
